Sugar Beach Hotel

Set on Playa Pan de Azúcar, only a few steps from the sandy shore, Hotel Sugar Beach is located on the northern Pacific Coast of Guanacaste, the most desirable beach zone in Costa Rica. This area is famous for sunshine, surfing, eco-adventures, incredible biodiversity and natural beauty. We share 24 acres of dry tropical forest with monkeys, motmots, iguanas, tree sloths, and a bevy of other indigenous fauna. At Hotel Sugar Beach we take measures to protect the wildness and health of this unique habitat. Our efforts ensure our guests will relax in comfort while we manage our impact on the environment.

Flights

Flights to/from Liberia International Airport (LIR) are NOT included, but don't worry we will pick you up and drop you off at the airport. We are more than happy to help you find good flights; we have a few websites we recommend as well as some travel agencies to help you find the flight that works best for you.

Passport & Visa Information

You can review the U.S. Government travel information here for Costa Rica:

Shared Rooms

You are welcome to share a room with your friends, or if you are traveling solo we will match you with someone totally awesome. A limited number of private rooms are available.

Solo Travel is Awesome

Traveling solo is an incredible way to make new friends. While you are always welcome to book a private room, sharing rooms can be cheaper and is so much more fun. We will take the time to match you with someone just as amazing as you. Be sure to check out videos from our past retreats and you'll see the great friendships that were formed. Making new friends is the best part of the adventure.

We love our staff

Gratuity for the staff at the resort is not included. If you feel you had an excellent experience please tip your staff. The standard tip is $75-$120 for the week, which is divided up among 6-8 people working at the resort

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, we request that all travelers purchase travel insurance. Travel insurance protects your investment in your trip and depending upon the plan you purchase; you can get coverage for trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and the loss or theft of your personal gear. We recommend  World Nomads and you can  visit their site to purchase insurance and get more information.  You can find World Nomads' Help Center here. You are welcome to purchase travel insurance through any company you desire.
